Rashid Darden is a Humanities teacher at a DC Public Charter School, focusing on high school and adult education.  With an emphasis on blended and personalized learning, Mr. Darden has achieved success with students striving to pass the Reading and Writing sections of the GED and those looking for passing scores on the Test of Adult Basic Education, Accuplacer, and NWEA Measures of Academic Progress.

In addition to reading and writing, Mr. Darden has designed interdisciplinary courses in Humor, Poetry, The American Musical, Greek Mythology, and Egyptian Mythology.

While working for the National Campaign to Stop Violence, he created the ABC’s of Bullying Prevention, an initiative implemented by the Harlem Globetrotters.

Further, he has created and facilitated the crowd-sourced David Bowie Syllabus and the Nat Turner Syllabus for students and teachers.
